Class Points is a free classroom points tracker at lauchl.in. This page explains what information it handles. The short version: if you don't log in, we store nothing; if you log in to sync, we store your class so it can sync between your devices.

Using Class Points without an account

Your class (class name, students' names, points, avatars and settings) is saved only in your own browser's local storage on your own device. It is not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data, or using "Clear Class" in the menu, removes it.

Using Class Points with a login (cloud sync)

If you choose to log in, we store the following so that your class can sync between your devices:

• your email address;
• your class name, points and group settings, including any pairs of students you asked to keep apart;
• your students' names, points and avatar choices;
• a class code that acts as your login. It is emailed to you and is what your devices use to connect. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can view and change your class.

We use this information only to run the service: to sync your class, to email you your login link, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else, except the service providers listed below or where the law requires it.

Students' information

Students do not have accounts and never enter information into Class Points. Only the teacher does. If you add students, please use first names or nicknames and no other identifying details, and make sure you are entitled to use the service in this way under your school's policies.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set cookies. The app uses your browser's local storage to keep your class, your theme and display preferences, and (if logged in) your class code on your device.

Service providers

• Cloudflare hosts the website, stores the data of logged-in users, and sends the login emails. Like most hosts, Cloudflare processes standard request information such as IP addresses and request logs to operate and secure the service.
• Google Fonts supplies the Inter typeface. Loading it sends your IP address and browser details to Google.

How long we keep data

We keep the data of a logged-in account while it is in use. Accounts that have been inactive for a long time may be archived, which hides them from our admin view but does not delete them, and signing in again restores them. We can delete your account and class data at any time on request.

Your choices

You can ask us to give you a copy of, correct or delete your data by emailing classpoints@lauchl.in from the address you signed up with. You can also export your class to a CSV file from the menu at any time, and log out to remove the class from the device you are using.

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
